Warren Jeffs: Mental health evaluation
In this evaluation, a court-appointed doctor describes polygamous-sect leader Warren Jeffs' attempt to hang himself in a jail cell while he awaited trial. Mental-health expert Eric Nielsen said Jeffs suffered from depression, but found him fit to stand trial for his role in the arranged marriage between a 14-year-old follower and her 19-year-old cousin. A Utah jury convicted Jeffs of two counts of rape as an accomplice for using his religious influence to entice Elissa Wall into marrying Allen Steed against her wishes.
